Fashionable San Francisco address offers good finds in boutique shopping
The stretch of Union Street between Gough and Steiner is a main artery running between the Marina and Pacific Heights neighborhoods, not far from the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. While the area has little of the multicultural charm that colors other parts of San Francisco, it does offer some of the best boutique shopping in the city.
If patronizing the big-box retailers isn't your cup of tea, a stroll down Union Street could make taking care of that holiday gift list much more enjoyable. There are more than 100 storefronts, and while upscale chains are butting in, these are mostly small retailers selling something for everyone: uber-hip clothing, household items, antiques, imports, jewelry, cigars, chocolate, pet supplies, children's clothes, and toys. There are also plenty of coffee shops and restaurants to satisfy your thirst and hunger along the way.
